Wayside School was accidentally built sideways. This book contains 30 chapters- each describing the strange students that either go to school at Wayside or the teachers who work there. Students will read about Paul's urge to pull ponytails, Mrs. Gorf's ability to turn students into apples, Joe's odd way of counting, along with many, many more. Skills addressed included inference, connecting to the text, vocabulary, reading comprehension, cloze passage vocabulary quiz.  You can copy an entire packet or you can copy pages individually.  This can be suitable for a small book club, or for the whole class.
